More Information
Due to Welph(to be born): July 2026
Pregnancy confirmed!! This breeding brings together two talented dogs with the temperament, trainability, and natural ability that we value in our retrievers.

Patsy is a pocket rocket. She lives in the house, runs hunt tests, and spends every hunting season in the field with her owner. From doves to geese, she has the drive to do it all. She currently has two Master Hunter passes and is 2-for-2 at the Master level.

Blast runs field trials and is also a house dog when he's not in training. He has an Open placement and brings the talent and style we were looking for in this breeding.

We are currently accepting deposits for this all-chocolate litter due at the end of July. Please contact us for more information.

Understanding Hunting Titles

When reviewing a litter pedigree, you may notice titles before or after a dog's name. These titles represent achievements earned through field trials, hunt tests, and retriever competitions. While titles alone do not guarantee a puppy's future success, they can provide valuable insight into the trainability, hunting ability, and accomplishments found within a pedigree.

AKC Field Trial Titles

Field trials are competitive events where dogs compete directly against one another for placements. Dogs earn points and placements toward championship titles.

  • NFC – National Field Champion
  • FC – Field Champion
  • NAFC – National Amateur Field Champion
  • AFC – Amateur Field Champion
  • QA2 – Qualified All-Age Dog with multiple placements

You may also see QAA or ***, which means Qualified All-Age. These dogs have earned the qualifications necessary to compete in Open and Amateur All-Age field trials.

AKC Hunt Test Titles

AKC Hunt Tests evaluate a dog's hunting abilities against a written standard rather than against other dogs.

  • MNH – Master National Hunter
  • MH – Master Hunter
  • SH – Senior Hunter
  • JH – Junior Hunter

These titles demonstrate increasing levels of training, marking ability, steadiness, and overall retriever performance.

UKC/HRC Hunt Test Titles

The Hunting Retriever Club and United Kennel Club offer hunting tests designed to simulate realistic hunting situations.

  • GRHRCH – Grand Hunting Retriever Champion
  • HRCH – Hunting Retriever Champion
  • HR – Hunting Retriever
  • SHR – Started Hunting Retriever
  • UH – Upland Hunter

These titles indicate a dog's success at progressively more advanced hunting levels.

Other Retriever Titles

NAHRA Titles

  • GMHRCH – Grand Master Hunting Retriever Champion
  • GMHR – Grand Master Hunting Retriever
  • MHR – Master Hunting Retriever
  • WR – Working Retriever
  • HR – Hunting Retriever
  • SR – Started Retriever

APLA Titles

  • GMPR – Grand Master Pointing Retriever
  • MPR – Master Pointing Retriever
  • APR / IPR – Advanced Pointing Retriever
  • CPR / CP – Certified Pointing Retriever

What Do These Titles Mean for a Puppy?

Titles represent dogs that have demonstrated natural ability, trainability, intelligence, and a willingness to work with their handlers. While titles are only one factor to consider when selecting a puppy, they can help identify generations of proven hunting dogs and retrievers that have excelled in competition and hunting environments.

At Cross Creek Kennel, we strive to produce Labrador Retrievers with the temperament, intelligence, and natural ability to excel as hunting companions, competition dogs, and family members.
