Obedience Training Program

We hear it over and over again: because they jump on everyone and/or pull when walked, it’s hard to let them be around when people come over or bring them to activities. Don’t let this happen to you and your dog. Our obedience program builds the foundation for a lifelong family companion. With over 29 years of experience, we understand each breed learns differently.

Our dog obedience program instills the four basic commands: Here (come and heel), Sit, Down, and Stay. These are learned both on and off lead. We also work on not jumping on others and other behavior improvements.

What Commands Will Your Dog Learn?
  • Here: Combines both “come” and “heel.” Your dog will learn to walk by your side without pulling on the lead. Off-lead, “here” teaches them to return to you when called, heel beside you if they’re ahead, or adjust when you change directions.
  • Sit: Cues your dog to sit when you stop or when given the signal. Helps prevent jumping and encourages polite behavior.
  • Stay: Teaches your dog to remain in place, promoting patience and self-control.
  • Down: Instructs your dog to lay down and settle when needed.
Do You Encourage Visits?

Yes, we encourage clients to visit and work with their dog. This is important because we also teach you how to give the commands effectively.

Cost and Length of Time

The earliest we start obedience training is at 6 months of age. The program typically takes 9–10 weeks. Training includes boarding and food.
